Whether you are a Chicagoan looking to make the most of the holiday weekend or a visitor searching for things to do in Chicago on the 4th of July, this is the Independence Day experience you will be talking about long after the holiday is over.

Why a Boat Tour Is the Best Way to Spend the 4th of July in Chicago

Our 90-minute architecture boat tour is the longest in the city, covering the Main, North, and South branches of the Chicago River. On July 4th, Chicago is alive. Flags line the Riverwalk, crowds fill the bridges, and the skyline stands at its most spectacular. Seeing all of it from the water, with nowhere to be and a cold drink in hand, is a different experience entirely.

With Tours & Boats, you’ll enjoy:

  • A full 90 minutes on the river — the longest architecture cruise in Chicago
  • Expert narration from guides who know Chicago’s buildings, history, and stories inside and out
  • Open-air and enclosed decks so you can soak up the holiday sun or find shade
  • A full-service bar on board with drinks and light snacks
  • 360° river views with no obstructed sightlines
  • A centrally located dock at River City Marina, 900 S Wells St — easy to reach from anywhere in the city
  • Convenient nearby parking for those driving in for the holiday

No crowded parade routes. No fighting for a spot on the Riverwalk. Just the river, the skyline, and the holiday.
